Francesco M. Rossi

Francesco Rossi has over 20 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance and direct investments. During his career he has advised clients in several industries in Europe and the US.

In 1993, he set up Rossi & Partners to continue his advisory activity in international cross border M&A with a strong bias towards the Italian market. Main industries of expertise are utilities (water and electricity), financial services (banking and asset management and real estate).

From 1988 to 1992, he was the Managing Director of the International Investment Banking Division of Brown, Shipley & Co. Ltd, an UK merchant bank. He was responsible for international corporate finance and M&A, as well as for the direct investments of the bank in an UK development capital fund and a US based LBO fund. He was also member of the Executive Committee of Brown, Shipley Holding Plc, a LSE listed financial services holding company.

He started his career with JP Morgan in New York and then worked at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Inc., first in the M&A department in New York and then in London, covering middle market companies.

Mr. Rossi holds a BA (Magna cum Laude) in Business Administration from "Luigi Bocconi" University, Milan. He also holds various directorships in portfolio companies.

Giuseppe Benedetti

Giuseppe Benedetti is the Milan-based partner. Prior to joining BR&P in 1996, he held several senior management positions with major Italian industrial groups.

As Group General Manager with Gruppo Acqua in Milan, he led the restructuring of Italy's largest environmental contract engineering company, which included the sale of a number of business units and the creation of a joint venture with an international partner.

He also worked in different senior management positions within the Montedison Group in Milan. He was Director, Administration, Finance and Control for Ausimont and the General Manager of Ausimont Peroxides and Silicates Division. Previously he acted as Executive Assistant to Mario Schimberni, the CEO of Montedison Spa. During that period, he participated in the turnaround of the company and led projects such as the NYSE listing of Ausimont and the Energy Project, which originated the listing of Edison (the energy company of Montedison).

Early in his career, Mr. Benedetti also worked as a manager in the largest private Italian banking group, Banco Ambrosiano, in Milan and Buenos Aires.

Mr. Benedetti's sectors of expertise are chemical, power, IT, industrial automation and pulp and paper.

He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Università Commerciale "L. Bocconi", Milan and a Magna Cum Laude degree in Political Sciences from Università degli Studi di Padova. He also participated in the Senior Management Program at IMEDE, in Lausanne, in 1988-89.
