Giuseppe Benedetti
Giuseppe founded Benedetti & Associates (“B&A”) in 1996 and has contributed in developing the boutique M&A firm into one of the Italian specialists of the electricity and renewable energy sectors, as
well as a reference point for Northern European companies investing in Italy.
Giuseppe has advised companies from the USA (Mirant Inc., the Atlanta-based independent power company, on its entry strategy in Italy), Finland (Rettig ICC, for the acquisition of Emmeti), Germany (WKN, the leading German renewable energy developer; Goldbeck Solar, on a PV plant JV), the Netherlands (Buhrmann/Corporate Express) and the UK (DSGi plc - now Dixons).
For hydroelectric concessions, he has also advised the Italian Province of Trento (a ground-breaking valuation of 19 plants – 1,400 MW) and the Government of Lombardy.
He has co-founded the international M&A network Globalscope, for which he served as President from November 2007 to October 2009.
Prior to establishing B&A, Giuseppe held several senior management positions with major Italian industrial groups, including Montedison and the Acqua Group in Milan.
Giuseppe’s main sectors of expertise are electricity – including renewable energy – and chemicals; he has also lead projects in IT, industrial automation and the retail industry.
He holds an MBA from the Bocconi University in Milan and is a cum laude Political Sciences graduate of the University of Padua. He also took part in a Senior Management Program at IMEDE, in Lausanne.
